Chapter 4: The Raid on the Estate

The momentum of the investigation shifted with terrifying speed. Equipped with Victoria's accidental admission, the hidden ring, and the historic IP theft files, Detective Torres secured an emergency federal search warrant for the sprawling, heavily guarded Hale estate located in the affluent foothills just outside the city.

Julian Vance, driven by a deep sense of protective duty toward little Lily, volunteered to accompany the tactical police unit as an independent observer. Lily insisted on coming along, refusing to leave Julian's side.

"I know where the hidden workshop is," Lily had told them, clutching the designer bag which Julian had legally allowed her to hold. "Mommy told me about the secret basement under the greenhouse where they made her work."

The night air was freezing as a convoy of police cruisers pulled up the long, winding driveway of the Hale mansion. The grand estate, usually a beacon of quiet luxury, was suddenly bathed in the harsh, flashing red and blue lights of justice.

Arthur Hale, a powerful, cold-eyed billionaire tycoon, met the police at the grand mahogany front doors, his expression a mask of arrogant annoyance.

"What is the meaning of this violation?" Arthur demanded, his voice booming as his private security guards stood behind him. "Do you know who I am? I can have your badges by morning!"

"Arthur Hale, we have a federal warrant to search these premises in connection with the kidnapping, forced confinement, and human trafficking of Clara Evans," Detective Torres announced, stepping past him with a team of forensic experts.

"This is absurd! Clara Evans ran away to Europe years ago!" Arthur countered, though his eyes narrowed dangerously when he spotted Julian Vance and, more importantly, the small, mud-stained girl holding the falcon bag.

"She didn't leave," Lily said, her voice ringing clear in the cold night. "She's downstairs."

Following Lily's lead, the team bypassed the opulent living rooms and marched straight through the manicured gardens toward a massive, Victorian-style glass greenhouse. Inside, amid exotic orchids and towering tropical ferns, sat a heavy, industrial-grade steel hatch hidden beneath a decorative stone fountain.

"Open it, Mr. Hale," Julian said, his hand resting near his holster.

Arthur stayed silent, his jaw clenched, refusing to move.

"Breach it," Torres ordered.

Two tactical officers stepped forward with a hydraulic ram. With a deafening, metallic crash, the lock shattered, and the heavy hatch swung open, revealing a steep, brightly lit concrete staircase leading deep into the subterranean foundations of the estate.
