Chapter 5: A True Christmas Magic

Chapter 5: A True Christmas Magic

Exactly one year had passed since the night the world shattered.

The Las Lomas mansion was completely unrecognizable. This time, as the snow fell softly outside on Christmas Eve, the house smelled richly of roasted turkey, cinnamon, hot cocoa, and fresh pine. Soft, classic Christmas carols played throughout the halls, creating a serene, magical ambiance.

There were no strangers dancing on the furniture. The living room was filled only with the people who truly mattered: Alejandro, Dr. Silva, the girls' dedicated caregivers, and most importantly, the four bright, healthy, and radiant quadruplets.

Valeria, Camila, Regina, and Sofía were no longer wearing thin, tattered nightgowns. They wore beautiful, matching velvet Christmas dresses in deep red, their hair neatly braided with festive green ribbons. Their feet were no longer purple from the cold; they wore warm, fuzzy socks as they sprinted around the base of a massive, twelve-foot Christmas tree that groaned under the weight of hundreds of beautifully wrapped presents.

"Daddy! Daddy! Look what Regina found!" Camila shouted, pulling Alejandro by his hand toward the tree.

Regina held up a beautifully baked, golden-brown gingerbread man they had decorated together earlier that afternoon. "We made one for you, Daddy. It’s the prettiest one because it has a big chocolate heart, just like yours."

Alejandro knelt down, his heart overflowing with a profound, overwhelming sense of peace. He looked at his daughters—their eyes sparkling with genuine childhood innocence, their bodies healthy, their minds finally free from the shadows of tyranny.

"Thank you, my angels," Alejandro said, taking a bite of the cookie and making an exaggerated face of delight that made all four of them burst into cheerful laughter.

As midnight approached, the girls gathered around the grand dining table. At the center of the table stood a beautiful, silver-rimmed plate. But it didn't hold moldy bread. It was piled high with warm, artisanal sweet breads, fresh fruits, and delicious holiday treats.

Valeria looked up at Alejandro, her eyes reflecting the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree. She reached out and took a piece of bread, eating it happily without any fear, hesitation, or shame.

"Merry Christmas, Daddy," Valeria said softly, leaning her head against his shoulder. "We love you."

"Merry Christmas, my beautiful girls," Alejandro whispered, pulling all four of them into a tight, warm embrace.

The nightmare was a distant memory, buried in the past. In the warmth of his home, surrounded by the laughter of his daughters, Alejandro knew that his greatest empire wasn't his business or his wealth—it was the safety, happiness, and love of his family. They had survived the dark winter, and together, they had finally found their true, everlasting spring.
